Coir is now being widely used for geo textiles (coir nets), Stitched erosion control blankets, vegetation fascines, Roof greening and sediment control drainage.
The natural characteristics of coir fibre, namely high water absorption, great tearing strength , biodegradability, solar radiation absorption and being environmentally friendly, have made coir fibre an excellent raw material for soil erosion control , filtration, slope stabilization, sediment control drainage and horticultural applications.
